Pineapple, Banana, and Kale Smoothie

Here's to getting a jump on your 2020 resolutions! This easy, high protein smoothie is a great way to get more greens in your diet! With naturally sweet fruits like pineapple and banana, the taste of kale is completely masked while still giving you a nutritional boost. Not to mention, the hemp seeds add protein and healthy fats to keep you full until lunchtime, making it the perfect smoothie to kickstart your morning routine!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple

  • ½ frozen banana

  • A handful of raw kale

  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds

  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk

  • 1 scoop vanilla plant-based protein powder (optional)

Directions

  1. Measure out all of the ingredients and add them to the blender.

  2. I usually add the almond milk first, then the fruit, protein powder, and hemp seeds. I add the greens last.

  3. Blend until smooth, then enjoy!

Notes & Substitutions

  • The kale can be replaced with spinach or any other green of choice.

  • Chia seeds can be used in place of hemp seeds.

  • I like it best when some or most of the fruit is frozen. Otherwise, in order to get a cold smoothie, you would have to use ice, which, in my experience, can dilute the flavor and change the consistency to make it less smooth.
